First Prize and $10,000 recipient of the 2025 Cooper-Bing Competition with Opera Columbus, Ms. Michels was commended by Opera News in May 2023 for her “opulent timbre and highly nuanced dynamic palette”. American soprano Page Michels is a second year Artist Diploma in Opera Studies student at The Juilliard School. Last season at Juilliard, Ms. Michels was named the First Prize winner of the 2025 John Alexander Opera Competition, the 2025 Met Laffont NW Region Encouragement Award winner, sang the role of Miss Jessel in Britten's Turn of the Screw in February, conducted by Zachary Schwartzman, and was a soloist in Händel’s Ode on St. Cecilia's Day with Juilliard 415, the Juilliard Historical Performance Department's period-instrument Baroque orchestra, conducted by Lionel Meunier, among other engagements.
Opera News
“Smack in the middle of the turmoil, Puccini gives us one of opera’s greatest hits, Lauretta’s “O mio babbino caro,” and FGO Studio artist Page Michels, with an opulent timbre and highly nuanced dynamic palette, achieved a rendition that could stand up to the best of her predecessors–no small accomplishment for a young singer taking on an iconic favorite.”
-Robert Croan
May 2023
South Florida Classical Review
“Page Michels made an independent-minded ingénue with considerable power over her father and a large, darkly colored soprano to match. Michels and Caalotta’s voices blended wonderfully in ardent duets.”
-Lawrence Budmen

Opera Now
“Their Sunday counterparts Page Michels and Ashley Shalna demonstrated ...understanding of their characters’ vicissitudes, with well-projected voices, effectively nuanced as their circumstances changed through the opera’s narrative.”
